Welcome to the Marine Technology Society's Dynamic Positioning web site. The DP Committee - a non-profit 503C organization - was established in 1996, with the objective of promoting a greater international understanding of Dynamic Positioning and related issues. In 2010, the Dynamic Positioning Committee Received the MTS Outstanding Committee Recognition.

Dynamic Positioning Committee Mission Statement

The Dynamic Positioning Committee’s mission is to provide a forum for the exchange of information, discussion of technology, training and education, improvement of reliability, development of guidelines, review of existing and proposed guidelines and/or regulations and any other issues pertinent to dynamic positioning and consistent with the objectives of the Marine Technology Society, to facilitate incident free execution of DP operations.

Over a Decade of Accumulated Knowledge
Now concluding its fifteenth year, the MTS DP Conference provides industry professionals with the knowledge base accumulated during these conferences via the website. This technological know-how and data covers a broad range of DP issues, incidents, and topics, providing the most recent, and comprehensive single source of DP information and DP industry technical papers available anywhere worldwide.

The 2012 Conference will be held at the Westin Houston Memorial City Hotel, 945 Gessner Road, Houston TX 77024. This is a spectacular venue and a new location selected to comfortably accommodate the growing conference attendance while providing additional space for exhibitors.
